‘The Garden of Mind’ is an installation by the artist and designer Michele Fabbricatore created for public spaces and education, a 4 meters high sculpture, made with reuse of urban wood and surrounded by a Mediterranean garden, in collaboration with the green nurserie Giorgio Tesi Group.

"Leonardo's Gardens" is a tribute to the genius of Leonardo da Vinci in the 500th century dedicated to the great master. It is a public itinerary created by Claudia Zanfi and Andrea Liberni, in which botany, architecture, eco-design and nature come together in an unusual program that transforms the Isola Design District into an art garden, with entirely vegetable materials, set up at the external area of the Stecca 3.0.

Dedicated to bees and their extraordinary 'architectural' capacity, the 'Theatre/Landscape Observatory', promoted by Green Island, is a project by the students of Politecnico Milano and TerraViva Organisation (prof. Richard Ingersoll). It’s a space completely made by natural materials and straw, to enjoy music and performances, comfortably seated in the midst of nature, surrounded by trees and artist's hives.

The fascinating setting of Marina Coccetti's greenhouse and nursery, a green corner overlooking Lake Varese, hosts the presentation of the book 'The Gardens of Piet Oudolf', edited by Claudia Zanfi. A narration by images through some of the most significant gardens designed by the famous landscape designer, author of the NYC High Line.

As part of the event 'Autumn colors', there will be the presentation of the first urban bee hive installed into an historical Italian park: the seventeenth-century Villa Litta in Lainate (Milano). Family workshop on the wonderful world of pollinating insects, with a botanical tour and tasting of forest honey. The first urban beekeeping course for young people, promoted by the Municipality of Lainate, will also be presented.

ALVEARI URBANI, at the San Faustino Garden, presents the special event of the first taste of honey produced directly by the bee hives of the garden. An appetizer will be offered, made by the winning recipes of the contest 'The sweet nectar', whose main ingredient is honey.

In collaboration with: Town Hall 3, Municipality of Milan; Cucinadiffusa / SoLunch; Trame Verdi; Recup; Legno Urbano; Greenwood; Apicoltura Capoano; and the associations involved in the management of the San Faustino Garden.

On the occasion of Green Week Milan, ALVEARI URBANI presents a weekend of activities dedicated to green spaces, gardens and bees. For the occasion, a moving performance will be created, open to all citizens, inspired by the flight of bees, who on returning from the flowers, are dancing on the combs to communicate with each other. A unique experience of collective sharing through gesture and dance.

In collaboration with: Town Hall 3, Municipality of Milan; Italian Professional Association Dance Movement Therapists; local realities and associations involved in the management of the San Faustino Garden.

The event is organized by ATELIER DEL PAESAGGIO.

As part of the prestigious international program ‘THE MASTER OF LANDSCAPE’, in the splendid setting of Bergamo Alta (Italy), the photographic exhibition 'The Gardens of Piet Oudolf' will open. It is a journey through images in public spaces of the city, dedicated to the famous Dutch landscape artist Piet Oudolf, with inspirations from his main urban gardens (High Line, New York; Millennium Park, Chicago; Garden of Virgins, Venice Biennale, etc. ...).

Together with the exhibition, the publication 'The Gardens of Piet Oudolf’,  produced for the occasion (Corponove Edizioni), is presented. This book is a monography on the famous landscape designer and it narrates his most iconic gardens, with a detailed list of the most used plants by Oudolf and drawings of his various projects.

The exhibition and the book are edited by the art historian CLAUDIA ZANFI.
